Stand-alone Generator for Slow Damped Oscillatory Wave Testing from Teseq

Teseq, a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has introduced an easy-to-use, stand-alone generator for slow damped oscillatory wave testing in single phase equipment up to 270 V and 16 A. The new NSG 3040-SOW is in compliance with current testing standards IEC/EN 61000-4-18 and ANSI C37.90.1.

Ideal for use by power stations, substations, electric meter manufacturers, relays and switch manufacturers as well as EMC testing labs that already use Teseq equipment, the NSG 3040-SOW enables users to perform over-testing at test levels up to 4.4 kV.

The NSG 3040-SOW features unique capabilities including selectable reduced source impedance as well as higher pulse rates which enable users to test under conditions that are closer to reality, ensuring their product will perform as intended in the real world.

Designed to complement Teseq’s line of NSG 3040 and NSG 3060 series of EMC test generators, the NSG 3040-SOW features the same user-friendly 7" high contrast, color touch-screen interface featuring superb graphics to enable quick and user-friendly set-up of test procedures.

The generator can obtain quick, reliable results of standardized tests with a few clicks using the integrated Test Assistance (TA) function. The NSG 3040-SOW offers inputs supported by an integrated keyboard or thumbwheel with additional keys for sensitivity adjustment.

The new generator features Windows-based control software that simplifies test programming and compilation of complex test sequences composed of multiple waveform types.

Teseq, formerly Schaffner Test Systems, a leading international high-tech company for EMC test systems, develops and manufactures test instruments, software and accessories for EMC emissions and immunity testing for conducted as well as for RF & microwave tests.

With the acquisitions of MILMEGA and IFI in 2012, Teseq has broadened its product line in the RF amplifier market, offering the very best solutions in a wide variety of commercial, industrial automotive, military, defense and communication applications. Our global presence includes 12 Teseq owned sales and support offices and 7 calibration labs in 9 countries.

MILMEGA is a leading specialist in the design and manufacture of solid state, high-power microwave and RF amplifiers.

The company's core strength lies in the development of broadband Class A amplifiers, typically operating in the 80MHz to 6GHz range with output powers from 10W to above 1kW. MILMEGA is based on the Isle of Wight, off the south coast of England, UK. From this location, we have built up a reputation for a flexible and dynamic approach to meeting customer requirements for solid state high-power amplifiers.

MILMEGA is dedicated to take our core technology - solid state power amplification -  to help specific segments of the EMC testing, Communications, Science and Defence markets.

Teseq Holding AG Acquires IFI, Further Expanding Its RF Amplifier Capabilities

Acquisition expands Teseq’s model range from an upper limit of 6 GHz to an upper limit
of 40 GHz

Zug, Switzerland, October 2012 – Teseq Holding AG, a leading developer and
provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, has
acquired New York-based Instruments for Industry (IFI), a leading designer and
manufacturer of solid state and traveling wave tube (TWT) amplifiers. The acquisition
expands Teseq’s model range from an upper limit of 6 GHz up to an upper limit of 40
GHz and power levels from an upper limit of 1 kW to an upper limit of 10 kW.

By uniting the industry leading capabilities of IFI with those of the recently acquired
MILMEGA, Teseq has broadened its product line in the RF amplifier market, offering its
customers the very best solutions in a wide variety of commercial, industrial automotive,
military, defense and communication applications.

Johannes Schmid, President of the Teseq Group, said, “With the acquisition of IFI,
Teseq continues to build on its vision of providing the best in testing solutions on a
worldwide basis. Acquiring IFI so soon after MILMEGA demonstrates our commitment
to an ongoing strategy of being a forward thinking leader and dominant supplier of RF
power amplifiers to the worldwide market.”

Schmid continued, “As a US-based manufacturer, IFI enables Teseq to offer an
increase in services to our growing customer base. IFI brings to Teseq the latest in
GaN and LDMOS Class AB solid state technology and the knowledge to manufacture
TWT amplifiers, as well as its strong relationships within the defense and military
markets.”

Established in 1953, IFI is a leading supplier of high power RF and microwave
amplifiers using both solid state and TWT technologies. The company boasts a broad
range of products, including low, medium and high power amplifiers that are
successfully used in applications worldwide.

Mike Yantz, Executive Vice President of IFI, said, “Becoming part of the growing Teseq
family allows us to offer our customers a complete RF product range as well as
additional expertise in engineering that was not available before. We are now able to
offer the best in global sales, support and EMC expertise, which will prove beneficial to
our end users.”

Teseq will incorporate IFI’s New York location with the Teseq Group as a fourth
competency center joining Luterbach, Switzerland; Berlin, Germany and Ryde, Isle of
Wight, UK. IFI will work in close cooperation with MILMEGA/Teseq on the Isle of Wight.
The primary focus of the combined organizations will be on TWTs, class A and AB
technology and customer specific models for the general amplifier and military markets.
The IFI brand remains the same, while the company’s product range will be harmonized
with the ones of Teseq and MILMEGA and offered in a new price list valid as of January
1st, 2013.
